Chonky colorwork rams look amazing in naturally dyed tones using Indigo and Cochineal. Available in kid and adult sizes

Sizes

The brim is slightly smaller than the hat’s body circumference so it fits smoothly on your head. If you prefer a slouchier, less fitted hat, choose a size larger than your actual head circumference.

Materials

A 10% buffer has been added to all yarn amounts

145 (175) yards / 133 (160) meters dk weight yarn COLOR A

16 (20) yards / 15 (18.5) meters dk weight yarn COLOR B

32 (40) yards / 29 (37) meters dk weight yarn in COLOR C

We used Cape May Fiber Co DK Merino (100% Superwash Merino, 231 yards, 3.5 oz /100 Gram).

COLOR A Naturally dyed indigo and weld

(A mini skein is recommended for COLOR B and COLOR C. Each of the DK mini skeins are 49 yards / 20 grams)

COLOR B Naturally Dyed Cochineal Pink

COLOR C Natural White / Cream

Needles

- US Size 5 (3.75 mm) and 7 (4.5mm): 16” (40 cm) or 24” (60 cm) circular needle

- US Size 7 (4.5 mm) set of double pointed needles (DPNs)

Notions

- 9 stitch markers (8 in one color 1 in a different color to mark BOR)

- optional Pom Pom (our Pom is 6” /15.5 cm in diameter)

Gauge

22 sts, 25 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in Fairisle Chart in the round on larger needle after blocking.

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
